Roger W. Washington, MD currently runs a solo-private family practice in Santa Clara, California. He is proud to serve as the Chairperson in the Department of Family Practice at Good Samaritan Hospital, located in San Jose, California. Dr. Washington received his undergraduate degree from Pomona College and his medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Washington has over 25 years in private practice and serves as the primary care physician to some of the most influential people in the Silicon Valley. He completed his internship and residency specializing in Family Practice at San Jose Hospital. Dr. Washington is a member of the Silicon Valley Black Chamber of Commerce, a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the California Medical Association and Good Samaritan Hospital. He was voted "Top Doc" in the San Jose Magazine in 2004, 2005 and 2006. Dr. Washington is the founder of Washington Well Being Foundation, a non-profit organization and the Medical Director of Silicon Valley Medical Associates. Dr. Washington welcomes opportunities to convey his passion for teaching preventative care. He often lectures throughout the San Francisco Bay area. His earnest speaking approach has led to a variety of lectures and forums that have included: health fairs, employee enrichment seminars, charitable events and professional associations. In his popular hour-long seminar of Insomnia and Sleep, he describes techniques to improve sleep without the use of drugs. Dr. Washington has combined his extraordinary education and training at American's top Medical Programs with his eclectic interest in history, cultures and Alternative Medicine so that he can practice a form of Integrative Medicine where the focus becomes what are often called "root" causes. In addition to his expert use of traditional FDA-tested medications, Dr. Washington recommends techniques such as guided imagery, self-hypnosis, yogic exercise and skills training to cope with life's health challenges. |
